This song was written for my Godmother Janet about her recent journey. In 2020 she nursed her husband and my Godfather, Trevor through his final year, battling against throat cancer. She tenderly nursed him through his final days. Pandemic lockdown restrictions forbade visitors, but I don’t think he much wanted to see anyone because of his physical deterioration. It’s difficult to understand the trauma that they both went through, watching the one you love fade away and leaving the one you love behind. I’ve been inspired by Janet’s strength in the aftermath, she is such a kind, gentle soul.
